Lasagna-Style Baked Ziti

I made Lasagna-Style Baked Ziti on Saturday in honor of my Aunt Deborah's birthday.  My cousin made a Greek Salad.  All the ingredients for the main dish and salad cost around $30.  A great deal, considering how many servings the meal yielded.  I enjoy making meals for and with people.  It is definitely something I will do more often.  I am getting more comfortable working in the kitchen.

Recipe Alterations: I added fresh Basil from my garden (Basil is super easy to grow!) and used frozen spinach instead of fresh spinach.

Daddies and Daughters

"When a father fails to capture the heart of his daughter, it makes her terribly vulnerable. The father is the first man in a girl’s life. If he is distracted and operates under some illusion that girls raise themselves, tragedy follows." -Daddies and Daughters

From time to time I will share a post. One of my favorite bloggers is Ingrid Schlueter, the author of the quote above. For many years she was a Christian worldview radio host with Crosstalk America, her father's ministry.   One of my favorite shows she ever did is called It's 911 Time For Christian Girlhood: Reclaiming Our Daughters for Christ.  Click here to listen to that show.  Her recent post on Daddies and Daughters also struck a cord with me. Although I did not grow up with a father, I can see what a blessing it is for girls to have involved and caring fathers.
