Hot Coals to the Lips

Lord help me to be not rash with my mouth, and let not my heart be hasty to utter anything before God: for God is in heaven, and I upon earth: therefore let my words be few.

2009: God Knows Where I am and Where I am Going

1. He has a purpose for me
2. He is in control
3. He is not on vacation
4. He is sovereign (not wringing his hands)
5. His Word is without error and is fully dependable

2008 was incredibly challenging at times (deciding to end pursuit of Masters degree, Grandmother's cancer, spiritual battles) but there were some beautiful moments (Grandmother healed!, victory at Campus Harvest, seeing many of my friends overcome evil with good, wonderful marriages). I am called to the hope which is never fleeting. Thank God for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, and most supremely righteousness through faith in his son Jesus for which without I would surely perish.

My friend Jahan suggested a BSF for in-depth study of the Bible this year. I am unable to do it right now due to another commitment but her offer did quicken me to do in-depth study. I'm studying a chapter of Romans per week until the end of March.

Added two books to widget at the end of this page: Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations and Pursuit of the Holy.

How was your 2008? What are your statements of faith for 2009?
